International students receive scholarships

Each year VIA awards scholarships to a number of highly qualified students. This year 31 students have been awarded.
31 international students at VIA University College have been awarded scholarships to support their studies in Denmark.

On October 20th, Vice-Rector Peter Friese, VIA University College, met twelve of this year’s 31 VIA recipients of the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science scholarships for talented international students. 

During a ceremony at VIA in Aarhus, Peter Friese congratulated the students and thanked them for choosing VIA. 

Peter Friese emphasized that as a foreigner in Denmark you have to work a little harder than the Danes, but the scholarship recipients has already proven their ability to work hard to reach their ambitions. 

Each year VIA awards scholarships to a number of highly qualified students, that has been nominated to the scholarship due to their study results and the effort they put into their studies. 

The scholarship includes free tuition as well as monthly allowances for a semester up to a full bachelor degree programme. Allowances are approximately the size of the national Danish student scholarships (SU). 

The yearly application period is February 1st through March 15th. 

The following recipients participated in the award ceremony: 

  • Amstrong Njongfoh Nkimih, national of Cameroon, student at the AP programme in Marketing Management  
  • Ashley Summers, national of Australia, student at the bachelor programme Global Nutrition and Health  
  • Diana Carolina Arce Jiménez, national of Costa Rica, student at the AP programme in Design, Technology and Business 
  • Jessica Lauren Clark, national of Australia, student at the international module in Nursing  
  • Renee Newall, national of Australia, student at the international module in Nursing  
  • Laurent Sindayigaya, national of Burundi, student at the bachelor programme in ICT Engineering 
  • Muhammad Maksudur Rahman, national of Bangladesh, student at the AP programme in Design, Technology and Business 
  • Michelle Mah, national of Australia, student at the BA programme in International Sales and Marketing Management  
  • Olena Ignatiuk, national of Ukraine, student at the AP programme in Design, Technology and Business  
  • Yvonne Nishimwe, national of Burundi, student at the bachelor programme in ICT Engineering 
  • Ruth Okenzie Kakhuta, national of Malawi, student at the bachelor programme Global Nutrition and Health  
  • Valentyna Sayko, national of Ukraine, student at the bachelor programme in Global Business Engineering
