On the course students specialise in different sports: outdoor, ballgames, dance or gymnastics and parkour.
At the Sports Specialisation Summer School you will get the opportunity to concentrate on outdoor life and activities, ball games, dance and expression, or gymnastics and parkour.
Choose your specialisation
There are four different specialisations:
- Outdoor life and activities
- Ball games
- Dance and expression
- Gymnastics and parkour.
During the course, you will concentrate on your specialisation, deepening your knowledge, skills and practice in relation to your chosen area. Along with other participants, you will plan and complete a teaching programme within your specialisation.
The course consists mainly of group work, project work, exercises, dialogue, presentations and independent in-depth study and reflection.
Motivation, involvement and learning
Specialising in a specific area within sports is important for educational purposes in order to enhance motivation, involvement and learning.
On this course, you will acquire the knowledge and skills for teaching within a selected area in sports. You will also work with engagement and focus as processes in primary and lower secondary schools, profile schools and continuation schools.
During the five weeks of the Sports Specialisation course, students work in-depth with their chosen area of specialisation:
Introduction to the course and selection of one of the four different specialisations.
Introduction to your chosen specialisation. Presentation of study plan, work and tasks. A joint presentation of Danish school-sport culture.
Students work with their chosen specialisation. During this week there will be a joint canoe-trip with the Swimming Teacher Education course.
Students choose the content for their specialisation-project. The project will be prepared in groups.
Presentations of the specialisation projects. Evaluation and a joint end-of-course gathering.
Some elements of the Swimming Teacher Education course are done in conjunction with the Sports Specialisation Programme, e.g. introduction, dinners, social activities and excursions. At the end of the course, there will be a social gathering for students from both courses.
