  • Structure and content

Spend a semester learning and teaching English with ICT in Denmark.

The exchange programme consists of three modules, each of which has its own set of requirements for completion.

    1. Teaching English as a foreign language

    • This module deals with communicative competence in English in the primary school and teacher education, including views of English as a subject and a language. Focus is on selected language samples, e.g. a target language form, learner language in the initial phase, learner language in the final phase.
    • The module serves as the theoretical base for the practical application of English teaching in the two other modules described below.

    2. Digital Learning Design

    • This module aims to qualify student teachers' theoretical, analytical, creative and practical insight into digital learning design.
    • Students acquire knowledge and skills on how to plan, implement and evaluate learning designs with ICT as an integrated feature.
    • Requirements for the completion of the module include a portfolio containing a minimum of 6 products. They must be related to class activities as well as an educational intervention project, including oral presentations in class.

    3. Educational practice in primary school

    • This module introduces students to the teaching profession in Denmark and involves hands-on teaching at a primary school. That means the module offers an opportunity to gain experience in planning, delivering and evaluating lessons.
    • Completion of the module is based on a 10-page report in English prepared by the students. The report is based on empirical evidence gathered during the placement period and analysis of the evidence with the use of relevant concepts and theories.
