International Day is a bit Rock ’n’ Roll

Students from VIA attending International Day
Friday 15th of May, International Day took place in the canteen at Campus Horsens. Here, students representing more than 22 countries served their national specialties.

International Day is an event which receives massive support from the students – more than 1.000 students showed up in hopes of tasting a bit from each of the 22 stands.

Each stand receives 1.000 DKK from VIA to buy their groceries, and a lot of energy was put into creating the delicious dishes. The dishes were actually so delicious that you had to be quite fast to secure a taste.

And it is not just the dishes that compete. Indeed, the students had put a lot of effort into their apparel and the decoration of the stands which made the event resemble an international match with many teams involved.

The atmosphere raised the roof

The event created a fantastic atmosphere at Campus Horsens. The students themselves described it as such: “This is so cool”, “It is like being at a concert. It is a bit Rock 'n' Roll”, “This is so much fun – everyone is in a fantastic mood”.

One of the students, who was a part of creating the great atmosphere, was French student, Katheline D’auria. Katheline is a Global Business Engineering student and is studying her first out of two semesters at VIA:

”The funniest thing is the many different cultures represented here today. It is truly international, and it is fun to talk to students from all over the world and taste the different dishes”.

International Day is a common tradition at VIA Campus Horsens, and the day is celebrated each spring and autumn semester. Next time will be in May 2014.
