Bachelor of Physiotherapy

About the programme

The bachelor degree programme prepares students to work as professional physiotherapists in public and private practice.

Students learn how to assess and diagnose problems with movement and functioning in patients and to plan, carry out, manage and communicate relevant physiotherapeutic interventions.

Though the focus is on students developing strong skills in physiotherapy, the programme is cross-disciplinary in scope and draws from other areas of health sciences and both the humanities and social sciences. Courses combine theory, training of methods and project work. Clinical internships are an essential part of the programme, which, at the same time, builds on the latest research in the field of physiotherapy.

Professional profile

Physiotherapists work in hospitals, public and private clinics, rehabilitation centres and sports organisations. Some graduates also choose to open their own clinics. Physiotherapists typically work with diagnosing, treating, training and educating patients about prevention and rehabilitation.

Graduates can continue their studies with a master’s degree at a university.
