  • Structure and content

Do you want a career within sales and marketing with an international perspective?

The programme is a 1½ year bachelor top-up consisting of three semesters.

The programme combines theory with practice through project work and case studies from a broad range of companies.

You will develop knowledge and comprehension of business practice, applied theory, and methods used for sales and marketing within an international business perspective.

The programme emphasises business-to-business sales. The focus is on overall themes covered by core subjects including sales and marketing, supply chain management, business law, management/organisation and economics.

The first two semesters will be based on theory and practice, whereas the 3rd semester will consist of an internship in a company abroad or in Denmark.

You will determine your own professional profile through an elective theme, the internship and the final Bachelor project.

The internship will give you the opportunity to use the skills you have obtained in class and apply them in practice. The last semester will also include the final Bachelor project.

    1st semester

The semester is structured around two themes:

    • Theme 1: The company’s strategic basis
    • Theme 2: The customer as the starting point

    2nd semester

The semester is structured around two themes.

    • Theme 3: Industry and Competitors
    • Theme 4: Sales management and the sales development of the company

Elective elements are also included in this semester.

    3rd semester

The theme of the 3rd semester is "Internship and Bachelor project".

The purpose of the internship is to provide you with the opportunity to test in practice the theoretical knowledge gained during the first two semesters. Meanwhile, the Bachelor project will allow you to demonstrate an ability to apply theory and methods to the analysis and solution of a practical business problem.

    Experience the working world

Doing an internship is a great way to get first-hand work experience and to gain access to the best graduate jobs.

As part of the bachelor top-up programme, you will be required to do an internship during the third semester. This will allow you to apply theory to real-world business tasks and practice a number of valuable skills.

    Benefits

You will benefit from working in a real-life environment and gain professional experience relevant to your future career as an International Sales and Marketing Manager.

Yet another advantage is that it improves your employability skills, as work-readiness is of top priority to employers when they look for graduates to fill vacancies.

The internship has a dual purpose. You will get to know what your professional future is all about while you are still preparing for it, and make good contacts with employers within your field of your study.

    Where to go?

You may do the internship in a company of your choice in Denmark or abroad.

    Duration

The minimum period for an internship is 12 weeks of full-time work.

  • Career guidance

As a graduate, you can look forward to excellent employment prospects worldwide.

The hallmark of this programme is an international focus and the inter-disciplinary skills that will make you attractive to a wide range of companies.

    Help for your future career

The Career Service Centre at VIA Campus Horsens helps you with your transition from being a student to being a part of the business world.

The Centre offers you advice about your options. It can provide you with good guidelines about salary, and organises Company Dating, where students and companies meet each other in an informal way.

    Further education

When you graduate as an International Sales and Marketing Manager, you will have the opportunities to continue with a master’s degree in Denmark or other countries.

  • International opportunities

A study abroad experience provides global insight and perspective.

To enrich the study experience and nurture cultural diversity on campus, we encourage our students to study abroad and we welcome foreign students from partner institutions.

VIA University College has corporation agreements with approximately 200 institutions in 33 countries in Europe as well as overseas.

This means that you have the opportunity to choose to study for one semester at one of our partner institutions in another country. If you choose to study abroad, we recommend doing so during the 6th semester.

Today's business world is a global marketplace, so having a study abroad experience can be positive for your CV.

You may also choose to do your internship in an international company in another part of the world. Both possibilities give you the opportunity to experience the way of life in another culture.
