If you do not fulfil the specified admission criteria for a programme, you can request an individual competence evaluation.

If you do not fulfil the specified admission criteria for a programme, you can request an individual competence evaluation. In an individual competence evaluation, we decide if you have competences comparable to the admission criteria for the programme.

You must apply at Optagelse.dk no later than 15 March at 12:00 noon, stating that you do not have a qualifying exam and check the box on the application that reads “I am applying for admission with special permission”.

Document your experiences and write a motivational description

In order for us to decide if you have competences comparable to the admission criteria, it is important that you carefully document all relevant experiences. Add the relevant experiences to your application at optagelse.dk and please also upload documentation of your experiences under the tab “Attachments” at Optagelse.dk

Furthermore, you have to write a motivational description and upload it at Optagelse.dk

A motivational description explains which of the formal admission criteria you believe your competences are equal to and includes your interest in and motivation for studying the specific programme.

It is a personal statement directed to the specific programme that provides you with the opportunity to point out why you have chosen exactly this programme. It is not a standard application or a list of all of your previous activities (not a CV).

You can write your motivational description based on the questions below:

  • Why do you want to study this programme?
  • What do you know about the programme and from where?
  • From where did you get your interest and what fascinates you about the profession?
  • What are your relevant competences for this programme?
  • What activities have given you these competences and why are they relevant?
  • What have you done to become a good student for this specific programme?
  • How do you believe your competences are equal to the formal admission criteria?
  • How do you see yourself as a graduate within this profession?

  • Your motivational description should be a maximum of one A4 page.

If needed, you may be invited for an interview in connection with the individual competence evaluation.
