VIA is a strong partner on resilience and sustainable solutions

We cooperate with companies and public authorities in preparing for climate challenges. We help develop resilient cities through sustainable solutions within water, energy and building technology.

Resilient solutions for climate changes

What is Resilience?

Resilience is about being able to resist; that we, as a society and a people, can survive in spite of climatical, social and economic challenges that the future may bring. Resilience is about equipping cities and communities with the ability to adapt to the instability and shock that will come – be it natural disasters, environmental problems, scarce resources, extreme social and economic problems, pandemics and/ or terrorism.

Why Resilience?

By 2050, 75% of the world’s population will live in cities. Thus, Resilience pertains especially to dealing with those challenges faced by cities in relation to climate change and scarce resources. As one of Denmark’s largest higher educational institutions, providing educational programmes for engineers, building technicians and many more, VIA shares in the responsibility of creating a sustainable society. We have, for instance, vast knowledge of how we can handle water resources and water challenges, ensure the energy supply, utilise geothermal heating and store energy.

How we collaborate?

Are you also working towards creating a more sustainable and robust society, for example, by developing products and technologies or are you an authority or public service? Then we would like to contribute with our knowledge and best practices within climate resilience. Collaborating with us could involve students, internships and projects, or research and development. 95% of our research and development projects are carried out in collaboration with businesses, authorities and public services.

Are you our next collaboration partner?
