Main purpose

​The purpose of the workshop is to gain a basic understanding of computer networks and Internet protocols.

Knowledge

​​​Having completed this course, students should be able to:
- Account for layered abstractions in protocol stacks.
- Explain the Internet’s naming system.
- Explain addressing on the Internet.


Skills

​​​​Having completed this course, students should be able to:​
- Calculate and measure delays in networks.
- Analyse network traffic using packet sniffer software.
