About the Market Research and Product Development Project

  • What to expect

    The main purpose of the project is to develop or further develop a product or concept (with a focus on sustainability), carry out a market survey and draw up a business plan based on this.

    The key words of the programme are:

    Project management, sustainable concept/product development, market analysis, business plan, pretotyping.

    During the work on the project you will gain knowledge on selection of theories, models and methods from the subjects in relation to the solution of the semester project assignment as well as:

    • Pretotyping and needs analyses
    • Business plan
    • Project planning
    • Technical Sustainable solutions

    After completetion student will be able to:

    • use relevant project management tools 
    • define, manage and implement interdisciplinary projects via a project plan (the project description) 
    • apply market analysis input to the technical solution and vice versa 
    • develop technical sustainable solutions that both meet the market's needs and have business potential.

    This is an interdisciplinary project work supported by both process and professional guidance. It includes teaching about market research and business plans. You will also be asked to produce a product in the form of model, prototype, program, items or similar in laboratories and workshops.

    Prerequisites

    The short term exchange programme is founded in VIA's Global Business Engineering bachelor's degree programme, but is open to all students in the engineering or business fields.

  • Your home institution must have an inter-institutional agreement with VIA University College in order for you to be able to apply for an exchange programme at VIA. You must also be able to transfer the credits from the programme into your current study programme at your home university.

    To apply for admission into the short term programmes at VIA Engineering, please ask the international office at your home university to nominate you to laph@via.dk.

    Once your home institution has nominated you, fill in and submit the application form.

    Application deadlines

    Study start August: 1 June

    Study start February: 1 December

  • Exchange students do not pay tuition fees.

    Per definition, exchange stays are an exchange of one or more students between partner universities and therefore, exchange students do not pay tuition fees.
