1st semester: Residential building
At the 1st semester we work with a concrete, small scale residential building project in the subjects Communication and Collaboration, Production and Structural Design.
You will work with e.g.:
- The relationship between various construction technology issues
- Relevant communication theories and methods of communicating professional issues.
- The basic theoretical and technical disciplines of the industry
- Mathematical and building physics principles
- Basic statics, energy and installations
- Applied principles and tools for project management, documentation and communication
2nd semester: Building up to 2½ storeys
At the 2nd semester we will work with a specific construction project of up to 2½ storey in the subjects Organisation and Business Understanding, Communication and Collaboration, Production, and Structural Design.
At this semester we will build on the skills and knowledge you gained at the 2nd semester.
In addition, we will work with:
- Relevant environmental, financial, technological, and social aspects of the production process
- Applied legislation, principles and methods in business and entrepreneurship
- Basic statutory rules and contractual relations
- Production concepts and methods applied in practice
- Digital building information models
- Theories, methods and tools for financial management
3rd semester: Industry and prefabrication
We will work with structural design of industrialised components in specific construction projects in the subjects Organisation and Business Understanding, Communication and Collaboration, Production, and Structural Design.
In addition, we will work with:
- The industrial production and execution methods.
- Industrial constructions, planning and management tools
- Understanding of technical and statistical principles
- Applied mathematical and physical calculation methods
- Principles for management of business economics
- Basic knowledge of contract law and right to compensation
- Possibilities, legal options and organisation in connection with entrepreneurship
4th semester: Internship and final project
At your 4th semester, you will have a 10-week internship in which you will experience work life as a Construction Technichian. You will be able to test your skills on the tasks you will handle after graduation. You can take your internship in a private business or public organisation in Denmark or abroad.
At the 4th semester you will also spend 10 weeks working on your final project.
Your final project is the paper that will constitute your final exam. The project must document your understanding of and ability to reflect on industry practices and use theory and method to solve a concrete problem.
