Research programme for counselling and mentoring

We research transition processes and their associated guidance and mentoring efforts that support lifelong career development.

How we work

We work primarily with participant-oriented research methods in collaboration with practice, in the form of, for instance, design-based research, research circles, learning circles and case studies. We also work with commissioned follow-up research.

Research areas

Our research includes:

  • Introductory course for new graduates in professions and business
  • Guidance on continuing professional development
  • Career guidance for adults in employment and outside of the labour market
  • Organisation of collaboration around guidance
  • Considerations of internship hosts in receiving pupils in internships
  • Support of career learning in primary and lower secondary education
  • Transition from primary to secondary education, further education and on to a profession
