Evidence-based programmes

VIA has entered into a consortium consisting of UC Lillebælt, UC Capitol, the municipalities of Århus, Herning, Holstebro and Ikast Brande with the indirect participation of Center for ADHD, Family practice and Method Center.

The consortium has been successful in winning two projects from the National Board of Social Services, and its task is to run the evidence-based programmes IY (The Incredible Years) and PMTO (Parent Management Training – Oregon).

The objective of the consortium is to contribute to a long-term sustainable national strategy for running and developing the evidence-based practice in Denmark for children and adolescents. The vision of the consortium is to develop and communicate the best possible knowledge to professionals with the purpose of enabling positive change in the lives of vulnerable families.

The consortium’s broad composition of educational institutions and public and private members ensures the offer of a continued and sustainable perspective in relation to education, guidance and maintenance of the programmes.

The challenge lies in educating and guiding practitioners and maintaining their skills within IY and PMTO so that Denmark may have a practice whereby professionals document the results of their work allowing this documentation to be used when organising municipal and private activities for the citizens.
