To document that you fulfil the admission requirements, you must submit your exam papers and other relevant documentation. If you have any experience within visualisation and 3D understanding, please attach examples of this as well.
Additionally, we strongly encourage you to submit a 3-minute motivational video. The motivational video is your opportunity to present your genuine motivation for entering the programme and your academic profile.
In the video you must initially introduce yourself and show a valid picture ID. The video should have a quality that makes you easily identifiable. It is also your responsibility to make sure that we can access and watch the video clearly.
Here are some suggestions for topics to cover (please do not feel obligated to include all of them or to limit yourself to these):
- Why do you want to study this specific programme? What do you know about the programme, and have you taken part in information events at VIA?
- Where did you get your interest and what fascinates you about the profession?
- How do you see your future as a graduate within the profession? What kind of job do you imagine having as a graduate from this programme and do you aspire to stay in Denmark after graduation?
- What elements of the programme are you especially looking forward to studying?
- What are your reflections on working closely with other students on common projects?
- How do you see your own strengths and weaknesses in relation to entering a study programme based on problem-based learning?
- Tell us about any relevant experience you may have e.g. work or study. Paid activities, volunteer work and solo projects could all be relevant.
- What have you done to prepare yourself academically for this specific programme?
When reviewing the video, we will focus on your ability to communicate succinctly and clearly about who you are and how you see yourself profiting from this study programme.
We will not be judging the video on image and sound quality, editing or other technical aspects. What is important from a technical perspective, is that you are in the frame during the entire video and that we can clearly hear what you are saying. Feel free to record the video with your phone, a web camera or whatever else is easily accessible to you.
We recommend uploading to an external video platform such as YouTube or Vimeo – mark it as “hidden” in the settings, if you do not want anyone but us to see it. Dropbox, Google Drive, and similar file sharing services that require sign up to view the files are not allowed.
Please place the link in a separate document named “motivational video” and upload the document at Optagelse.dk no later than 15 March at 12 noon.
Remember to test that the video works before submitting your application! If we cannot access the video, you will not get credit for it on your application.
