Social Programme

VIA Summer School offers a social programme alongside courses

VIA Summer School offers a social programme, which will consist of a combination of social and cultural events.

Please bear in mind this is for summer schools taking place in Aarhus. Courses in other locations will have another programme.

The activities in the social programme are included in the fee, you pay for the course. At some events food and drinks will be at students own expense. It will be described under each activity.

You can decide for yourself the extent to which you want to participate in these activities.

 

Monday 1/8 – Welcome reception for the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals and Co-Creation class  

VIA Summer School wants to welcome you to VIA and Aarhus.

Wednesday 3/8 – Walk in Aarhus for the UN class 

Take a walk in Aarhus with your student buddies – they will guide you to restaurants, bars and beautiful places in Aarhus. You will get a guided tour to the most student-friendly and cozy places in Aarhus.

Friday 5/8 – Street Food 

Visit Aarhus Street Food and have a taste of the world. Here you will be able to find food from all over the world and enjoy the food at the long tables and the cozy atmosphere.

Sunday 7/8 – Aarhus Ø 

Experience the new part of Aarhus – Aarhus Ø! This part of the city is unlike the rest – go see the buildings, the activities, the water and the vibrant atmosphere in the summer.

Wednesday 10/8 – Botanical Garden and the Greenhouses (Væksthusene)  

Go enjoy the summer sun in the Botanical Garden - one of the largest parks in the heart of Aarhus and discover four climate zones and over 2000 plant species from all over the world in the Greenhouses. If you wish you can bring some food and drink and make a picnic in the park.

Friday 12/8-Saturday 13/8 – Outdoor Trip for UN class

As part of the UN course you will experience the Danish outdoor. Here you will get in touch with nature and sustainability for our planet.

Monday 15/8 – Welcome reception for the Deep Dive into Entrepreneurship class

VIA Summer School wants to welcome you to VIA and Aarhus.

Monday 15/8 – Danish Food Night

Get a taste of traditional Danish Food. What better way to get familiar with Denmark and Danish culture but to taste the traditional food.

Thursday 18/8 – ARoS Museum 

ARoS Museum has the largest art collection in Denmark outside Copenhagen. Here you can experience installation art, various exhibitions and see Aarhus from the Rainbow Panorama. When in Aarhus, ARoS is a must see.

Sunday 21/8 – Deer Park, Marselisborg, The Infinite Bridge 

This Sunday you have the opportunity to experience a beautiful part of Aarhus - Marselisborg. Here you can take a walk in the Deer Park and feed the deers, visit Marselisborg Palace and take a walk on The Infinite Bridge. On a summer’s day in August, this is a beautiful way to spend your Sunday.  If you wish, you can bring your own food and drink.

Tuesday 23/8 – The Old Town 

“Den Gamle By” (the Old Town) is a national open-air museum giving you a look of urban history and culture in Denmark through tree centuries. Take a look at Aarhus back in the day – the houses, the shops and a jazz bar. It is definitely worth a visit!

Friday 26/8 – Farewell reception
