More about the research
In the program, we bring the ideal of the good life into dialogue with our time.
We ask: how is this pedagogical or social practice done? We do so from two related, yet different angles. We examine what the practice in question is, including what values it promotes or inhibits. Then we pose the question more broadly: how is this practice done well; are there (other) criteria for what a good practice could be? The combination of these two angles contributes to knowledge about dilemmas, challenges, opportunities and, not least, sustainable development opportunities. In the social innovation projects, we go a step further, as we also examine, follow and support the changes in organization, collaboration areas and/or professional work that the actors assess as promising in relation to the well-founded values that the practice should promote.
When we stand on two legs in our studies, we must both conduct empirical studies through fieldwork and conceptual studies that focus on how such practice can be understood in general. We also emphasize experimental and artistic processes of inquiry and co-creation. We are interested in forms of meaning, knowledge and participation that can be included in ideas about and efforts to promote the good life.
How we work
With the two angles in our studies, we must both conduct empirical studies through fieldwork and conceptual studies that focus on how such practice can be understood in general. We also emphasize experimental and artistic processes of inquiry and co-creation. We are interested in forms of meaning, knowledge and participation that can be included in ideas about and efforts to promote the good life.
