We conduct practice-oriented and interdisciplinary research on social marginalisation.
Our research involves perspectives from children, families and professionals, and focus among other things on involvement of children before and after placement in out-of-home care and the possibilities and barriers for using out-of-home placement in kinship care.
We conduct research on how citizens with disabilities are supported in their everyday lives and investigate how collaboration between citizens, relatives and professionals can be developed and strengthened.
We investigate how youth and adults in socially marginalized positions get better opportunities for finishing an education and/or enter or remain in employment.
Our research examines how young people use legal and illegal substances, such as alcohol, cannabis or nitrous oxide. We investigate substance users’ own perspectives on intoxication, risk behavior and recovery.
Citizens with complex problems require help from several, but often separate welfare sectors. We investigate, develop and try out new ways of cross-sectoral coordination in collaboration with Holstebro Municipality.
Based on empirical research we investigate how social workers practice authority in municipalities. We focus on professional discretion, how new laws are implemented in practice, as well as how citizens are involved in their own case.
