Meet Saskia who went to VIA Summer School

25 year old Saskia from Germany studies International Health Sciences at her home university and attended the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Co-creation summer school.

United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and Co-creation is a summer school programme aimed at all students interested in working with sustainability. This could be environmental, social or economic sustainability. The students work together in groups and are paired with a local business or organisation who has a challenge that they want a sustainable solution to.

New friends and new ways of learning

Saskia studies International Health Sciences at her home university in Fulda, Germany. She especially enjoyed learning about new strategies for problem solving, such as the design thinking model, but also new ways of learning, for example through problem based learning in groups. In addition, Saskia got close to her class mates over the 4 weeks of the course and she spent a lot of time with them in class as well as after school, making new friends from all over the world.

It is great getting those different perspectives, because we are all coming from different countries, from different universities and also from different study fields. Saskia
