Meet Catalina Nicolaescu

Catalina from Moldova is a 5th semester student at Architectural Technology and Construction Management at VIA in Horsens. Meet her here and learn more about her experience, her programme and why she chose to study in Denmark.
A little misconception about my study programme is that it is purely architecture, when in fact it is not. It is a great combination between architecture and engineering

Catalina Nicolaescu

At her second year, Catalina landed a student job in VIA's Makerspace, which allowed her to open up her creative side. Later on, this lead her to the student job she has now at the LEGO Group.

When Catalina first arrived to Denmark, she had a bit of a cultural shock, but in a positive way - the teachers we open, friendly, and students call them by their first name, which was very different from what she was used to back home in Moldova.

Building a network

Catalina came to Denmark by herself, but she was relieved to find out that VIA offered lots of opportunities and events, where she was able to meet other internationals in the same position as her, as well as Danes.

Watch the video above to learn more about her experience at VIA.
