“I chose the Film AI exchange programme because it is an interesting subject, and I haven’t seen it before at other universities. It is focused on the future of the film industry, and I think that it will be really important to be able to use AI tools once I get to go out there and work in the media industry” the student explains.
She always wanted to go abroad during her studies and chose Denmark because of the possibility to work with AI directly in relation to the film and storytelling industry.
Tuva has been sceptical of using AI in the creative process and afraid of which consequences it could have for the industry in general. However, she underlines the importance of not just pushing new technologies aside but instead learning how to use them to your advantage.
“Taking this course really helped me on the way to understanding AI. I am not afraid of AI anymore. In class, we learned how to choose which tasks to use AI for. We really got some hands-on practice during the course.”
Passionate teachers and lecturers from the industry
During the exchange semester, Tuva met teachers and lecturers from both the academic world and the film industry in class.
“This exchange semester has been a really really great experience for me. Every teacher on the course was very well educated and passionate about working with AI. We have also met a lot of teachers and lecturers from the industry, which has been very inspiring and cool.”
Tight-knit community and rich social life
She also really enjoyed her time in Aarhus, which is one of the most beautiful cities she has ever been to – cozy, walkable and safe – meeting new friends in class:
“I came here with one of my classmates from home, and also, I have a friend who lives in Aarhus, but everyone in class, both teachers and students, have been so nice and open, so I would not worry about coming here on my own. The school arranged an entire introduction week with social activities, introduction to the school and life in Denmark.”
