Main purpose
This course provides elementary insight into the challenges presented by soil contamination in general.
Knowledge
Following the workshop, the student should be able to:
- Describe background for contaminated site legislation
- List different instances where soil contamination knowledge is required
- Explain the elements of risk assessment
- Illustrate the fate and transport of soil contaminants

Teaching methods and study activities
One week of work for the student. Activities during the course are lectures, theory, fieldwork, exercises and self-study.

The course is evaluated on the basis of participation in the listed topics and reporting of individual activities. Required 80% participation to pass.
