How to apply for VIA Exchange, Step-by-step guide

  • There are a few things you need to check and prepare before filling in the online application form:.

Per definition, taking an exchange semester requires that your home institution has an exchange (inter-institutional) agreement with VIA. You can typically find out by asking the international office at your home institution. The international office at your home institution must nominate you for an exchange at VIA, providing you fulfil the requirements. VIA needs to receive this nomination, before you can apply to become an exchange student and before we can process your application. Once we have your nomination, we will send you a link for our application platform MoveOn.

  • Once you have been nominated, please prepare the following documents, as you need them to complete the application process:

    • Copy of an identity document (mandatory)
    • Identity photo (mandatory)
    • Academic transcript of records (mandatory)
    • Motivational letter (mandatory)
