VIA Design
At VIA, we educate for the creative as well as the business part of the design and fashion industries and the concepts of innovation and entrepreneurship are integrated in all study programmes. In English, VIA offers an AP degree in Design, Technology and Business with specialties in Fashion Design or Branding and Marketing Management – and a Top-up degree in Design and Business with 3 different specialties: Branding and Marketing Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Fashion Design. Together the AP degree followed by a Top-up degree equals a bachelor’s degree.
Studying design at VIA
The teaching methods at VIA’s design study programmes are project oriented and combine theory, practice and supervised independent studies. Programmes are practice oriented with internships and developed in close cooperation with the businesses and organisations employing our graduates – increasing your chances of landing a job in Denmark after your studies.
Design hub Herning
Our hub for design related programmes is located in Herning, near key industry stakeholders, i.e. local design businesses and Dansk Fashion and Textile (Industry and employers' association for the Danish fashion and textile companies), both of which VIA works closely with. Students have access to Dansk Fashion & Textile’s TrendStudio. In addition, students at VIA design in Herning have access to numerous workshops with the newest technologies, e.g. material laboratory, dye-works, knitting workshop and sewing machines. Admission requirements for design programmes
Admission requirements for VIA University College’s design programmes vary from programme to programme. In addition to standard admission requirements of e.g. upper secondary school certificate and English language proficiency, VIA’s design study programmes also requires potential students to do an admission assignment and an admission interview.
