As a student at Campus Herning, you have free access to VIA's Makerspaces, where you can use digital tools as 3D printers, laser cutters and robot technology.

The spaces allow you to work with your own ideas and get hands-on experience on developing prototypes.

  • LunchBox 

    The name of our canteen is "LunchBox". It serves food with organic ingredients and offers a large salad bar every day along with homemade soups and delicious dishes. The food is available at student-friendly prices.  

    Workshops 

    Our Campus has a wide range of workshops based on the latest technology. You will for example have access to a material laboratory, dye-works, knitting workshop and sewing machines.  

    The Boutique 

    In our Boutique, you can buy or order everything you need for your projects and assignments as well as academic books.  

    The Boutique offers everything from Pantone ink, design rulers, sewing articles to office supplies and much more. Our extensive network of Danish and international suppliers makes it possible to obtain special materials at student-friendly prices. 

    TrendStudio 

    Thanks to our close cooperation with Dansk Fashion & Textile (DMT), their TrendStudio (trend library) just across the street is open to our students.

    The European fashion magazines and leading trend agencies (Kjaer Global, Promostyl, Trend Union and others) that students have access to at the studio are great sources of inspiration for course and project assignments. 

    The TrendStudio has inspiration material for coming seasons in both womenswear and menswear, childrenswear, lingerie and accessories, etc.  

    Career Service Centre

    The primary task of Career Service Centre is to establish and strengthen cooperation between VIA students and businesses in a wide range of industries.

    Library 

    Students have free access to the library service at Birk Centerpark. The library is located at the Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH), Aarhus University, Birk Centerpark 15 right next to the school.  
    Here you can search for information in books, article databases, statistical databases and much more. You can find the library's online service and opening hours at hihb.au.dk

    Bookshop

    At our Boutique, you can order books about the fashion and lifestyle industry. You can buy other relevant books for your course programmes at the Birk student bookshop located at Aarhus University. 

  • We offer a number of activities where you can get to know your fellow students. 

    • Introduction programme – Every year we welcome our new students with an introduction programme 
    • Family Dinners – Have dinner with a Danish family. This concept is a great way to get to know the Danish family culture and make new contacts outside school. 
    • "LÆR DANSK" – A team of language centres offers Danish lessons. Learn to speak and write together with other international students. 
    • Joint party committee - Help plan and arrange joint parties at VIA Design and BTECH.  

    With your student ID card, you have access to the Campus outside normal teaching hours.


  • At VIA Student Incubator, students work with innovation and entrepreneurship. They learn to develop and generate new ideas and projects.

    This may be the student’s own ideas or external projects carried out in co-operation with local institutions and companies, municipalities or regions.  

    Coaching and advisory services offered 

    We offer coaching and professional advisory services to students. A mentor programme brings in experienced entrepreneurs to share advice and input.

    Students can get access to office space together with other entrepreneurs.

  • There is free parking on Campus Herning, but you will have to get a parking permit. 

    Send an e-mail to design.parkering@via.dk with your name and the car’s registration number. 

    Your car is registered when you have received an e-mail confirmation. The car’s license plate will be scanned by parking control.
