The department of VIA Film and Transmedia prepare students for a career in filmic storytelling. Students produce for real clients, learn how to manage a set, and design transmedia strategies.
The department houses the international semester programmes "The Fashion Experience – Film and Transmedia Storytelling" and “New Screens Experience”, as well as the Danish professional bachelor programme "Multiplatform Storytelling and Production". It is located in Aarhus Film City, in the prestigious harbour environment.
More than 80 film production companies are situated in the Film City and the harbour has also become a hotspot for fashion companies, so students will be in the midst of the flourishing film and fashion industries.
VIA Film and Transmedia is able to offer unique programmes, because it invites the industry into the classrooms. After completing a programme, students will have an extraordinary insight into the industries’ requirements and have a personal network within both large and small companies. They will be working with directors and decision-makers in the new screens, fashion, film and transmedia industries, and they will play a key role in productions during their studies that will single out their résumés.
