As a student at the Architectural Technology and Construction Management programme you get to use your technical knowledge, show your management and planning skills, and use your creativity. The classroom is usually buzzing with energy and students working in small groups on their projects, making 3D models in Revit, drawing details, analysing building materials, calculating budgets etc. You will become a part of a vibrant international environment where you can expect to meet international students from all over the world, as well as Danish students in class.
Theory as well as practical teaching methods
The programme is based on Problem Based Learning, therefore you will work with real-life projects and challenges, and develop your knowledge and skills through different ways of learning, for example classroom lectures, project- and group work, construction site visits as well as an internship in the 6th semester.
The daily lectures will primarily take place in classrooms, however at certain occasions lectures will be held in large auditoriums. In between lectures you are expected to work on your project in your study group, putting theory into use.
Working in study groups will be a huge part of your student life at the Architectural Technology and Construction Management programme. Hence, working in groups, solving real-life challenges, will provide you with a solid learning foundation and a great understanding of the industry you will become a part of in your future career.
In addition to the lectures provided by the programme, we also have various labs, workshops, summer schools, and innovation and entrepreneurship centers on campus, for example Makerspace with 3D printers, laser cutters and other types of equipment, VIA Student Incubator where we offer start-up counselling to all students at VIA, and much more.
Close collaboration with industry
The study programme collaborates with companies and organisations in the construction industry in order to provide you with newest knowledge and insight. You will get to visit companies and construction sites, where you can meet Architectural Technology and Construction Management graduates and learn more about their daily tasks.
In addition, we invite lecturers from the industry to give you insight into the construction industry and their own career path.
At the 6th semester, you get to work independently in a company during your internship, solving tasks with the other employees. You can do your internship in Denmark or abroad. We generally recommend our international students to do your internship in Denmark, because having a professional network greatly increases your chances of finding a job after graduating.
Full time studies with preparation
Be aware that the Architectural Technology and Construction Management programme is full time and requires an average of 40 hours of studying per week.'

Study environment
When you are not studying, there will be plenty of other things to do at Campus. At VIA, we have a lot of different associations, which you are more than welcome to join. We have social, academic, and political associations, or you can join the social life at Friday bars, parties or by playing board games in the afternoon. Study start
During the first days of your first semester, you will be introduced to your study programme, the lecturers, and the study environment at your new campus. Moreover, we also have a huge focus on social activities, in order for you to get to know your fellow students.
All new students at the Architectural Technology and Construction Management programme will be assigned a mentor during their first semester. The mentor will set up and facilitate a number of meetings with the mentees, where you can discuss ups and downs in your student life and get help and guidance. The mentor is a student from a later semester and will help you get the best possible start to your studies. More about the mentor programme here.
Most years, our programme starts in the end of August, but the final dates will be announced at MyVIA, VIA’s portal for students. You will get access to the site once you are enrolled at our programme.
